He has a special interest in new glaucoma procedures and offers suprachoroidal shunt implantation and transciliary filtration to select patients.
Dr. Loewen has authored more than 70 abstracts, articles, book chapters and patents. He serves as a reviewer for several scientific journals that include Investigative Ophthalmology and Visual Science, Molecular Vision, Journal of Gene Therapy, Gene Medicine and Human Gene Therapy. He is a member of the American Glaucoma Society, American Academy of Ophthalmology, Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology and American Society of Gene Therapy. Dr. Loewen trained with Dr. Robert Weinreb at the Hamilton Glaucoma Center at UCSD, one of the most distinguished glaucoma specialists worldwide.
